This
event is designed to allow teachers and performers from the North West
to come together every two months with a view to raising the profile
of Arab/Belly Dance in the North West. At present there are no facilities
for regular performance other than haflas. This event is open to dancers
of all standards, to help improve their public performance skills and
to enhance personal growth within the dance.
Teachers can put themselves forward as a guest teacher at these events in order
to expand the dance and learning horizons of students all over the North West.
Teachers will be paid a set fee for an hour and a half workshop. This workshop
can be any format and will be a one off by this teacher therefore allowing
everyone to get a fair chance at providing a workshop facility. We feel there
is a lot of talent in the North West that is not being shared by everyone.
We also hope that we can use this opportunity as an ideas exchange to assist
teachers in structuring their own classes, i.e. by fresh input of ideas and
universal group choreography.
At each event teachers will be given free entry providing they have promoted
Hip Kandi at their classes and bring at least five students with them, otherwise
the £!0 entry fee will be applicable. Please ensure that students, when
booking this event, write the name of their teacher on the booking form. The
guest teacher will be evaluated by students at the end of their workshop and
the feedback forms forwarded on before the next Hip Kandi. This will be acceptable
in the form of constructive criticism only.
Bookings must be received by no later than the Friday before this event. The
cost for students is £10 and will include the workshop with guest teacher
for one and a half hours, performance platform, group warm up and choreography
followed by general dancing and socialising for the last hour. There are bar
facilities for drinks etc, but we are not providing any food for this event.
This event is open to family and friends,, but no children under the age of
14 as our insurance does not cover a lesser age group. Family and friends who
are non dancers and who will not be participating in the workshops and group
choreographies will only be charged £5.
This is your opportunity to shine. Look forward to seeing you very soon
